Golf Alignment

One of the most common issues that I see from day to day is a poor golf alignment routine. When players come for a golf lesson and they’re struggling with their direction, a lot of the time, it is simply due to the way that they approach the ball in their golf alignment routine.

Hence, in today’s lesson, I’m going to give you a simple little tactic that you can use to ensure that you’re giving yourself the best chance of getting that ball started on your intended line!

Here’s a quick summary of the absolute MUSTS for aligning your club correctly with your intended target. Get studying before your next round:

  1. Stand directly behind the golf ball and draw a visual line from your target back to the ball.
  2. Next, pick a specific, small intermediate target about 6 inches in front of your ball on this line.
  3. Then, whilst keeping your body open to the target, line up the clubface first.
  4. Tilt your head on its axis and whilst looking at the target, set your body and get comfortable by moving your feet and pumping your arms to relax.
  5. Finally, pull the trigger!
