Golf Alignment

Golf is an athletic and dynamic movement, and it happens at an incredible speed. To get maximum efficiency and power out of your golf swing, you need to turn tilt and extend your body to deliver a robust and predictable motion. This article will explain how to get more power with our body movements.

The problem

The recreational golfers who don’t turn, tilt and extend their bodies can never contact the golf ball the way the play demands. A perfect golf hit happens as a result of an ideal combination of all three movements. If all or any of them malfunction, the player would greatly struggle.

If you are a golfer who moves back and forth and up and down, you need to work on the following solution.

The drill

You need to perfect all three movements as much as possible. To master the art of turning, tilting, and extending your body, from taking off the golf club to extending your whole body out like a pro after hitting a shot, you need to practice a simple drill.

  1. Watch yourself in a mirror and encircle your head where it would lie in the setup.

  2. Now lift your golf club, keep the head centered and go to the top of the backswing.

  3. As you go for the top, there is a perfect chance you will turn, tilt and correctly extend your body.

  4. You need to turn because it helps get some depth to the swing.

  5. Tilting the body is helpful to get the club on the ground. Similarly, an extension of the body puts you in a position where you get maximum strike efficiency.

Summary

Keep your head locked in the center as you take the club off for a swing. It’s better to stand in front of a mirror and encircle your head in the setup. Your objective is to keep it centered while you go for a backswing. The more stable your head is throughout the swing, the more powerful and accurate your shot would be.
